22 PRIMES'S FATHER'S DAY MENU

       Whenever I dine at 22 Prime, i'm always certain i'm in for an amazing meal. Although they are best known for their selection of premium quality Steaks, 22 Prime is more than just a world class Steakhouse. Recently Discovery Suites' Executive Chef Gerwin Bailon developed a menu for Father's Day that showed the finesse and execution that he and his staff possesses, that made 22 Prime the highly regarded restaurant it is today.

   And being a father myself, I was the perfect person to try out the new Father's Day Menu! 

           If Dad doesn't want to go too heavy for lunch, he can opt for something like a hotdog. But when 22 Prime is in the picture, you're going to have to be careful what you wish for.. Because their Wagyu Hotdog (P1,055) isn't for sissies. Can you imagine a foot long Wagyu Sausage, tucked between a housemade Hotdog Bun and topped with flavorful Sauerkraut, Bell Pepper Relish, and a blanket of melted aged Cheddar Cheese. 

        The Dad's Burger (P985) is without a doubt, one of the best burgers I've had here in Metro Manila. It is an absolute masterpiece.. A stunning USDA Beef Patty is stuffed with Foie Gras and Cheese, then nicely piled on a Toasted Brioche Bun. I usually add mayonnaise to my burgers, so I was pleasantly surprised to discover the the burger came with a side of Miso Mayo, to go along with the tasty Potato Wedges.  

          The fusion of rich, decadent foie gras that is balanced by the innate saltiness of the cheese that pairs amazingly with savoriness of the beef, which by the way, was cooked to absolute perfection. The juiciness of that burger was incredible, I can't stress enough how amazing this was. 

         Another delicious addition to the Father's Day Menu is the Cajun Chicken (P410). A Boneless Chicken Fillet is rubbed in Cajun Spices, and Grilled to a nice char, then laid over a bed of silky Cheese Mashed Potatoes, with a garnish of Mango Salsa adding extra vibrance to the dish. The heat never goes over the top, with the kick of spiciness tantalizing your taste buds without overwhelming it. 

   A good Father's Day menu wouldn't be complete without some awesome Ribs, which is why it was only fitting to have 22 Prime's Pork BBQ Spareribs (P585) as part of the line up of choices. These luscious Hickory Smoked Pork Spare Ribs fell right off the bone, and is slathered in a flavorful sauce that offers a great balance of sweet and smokiness. The meal is also served with a Dirty Rice Pilaf, Poached Broccoli, and Corn on the Cob.

       There's really no better way to show dad you love him than by treating him to a steak dinner.. So 22 Prime made it a disih that would be doubly special for dad by offering a Steak Duo platter (P1,210)!  

     The first steak I dove into, was the Wagyu Hanger Steak, which was topped with a creamy Mushroom Gratin. The steak itself was seared beautifully, and the earthiness of the mushrooms, mixed into the gratin complimented the light charred flavor of the beef.

    My favorite among between the two, was the amazing Angus New York Striploin, topped with a rich Truffle Bearnaise and a perfectly Poached Egg. The cook on the steak was masterful, while fragrance of the truffle lightly imbues the meat with even more flavor. 

      When you hit the creaminess of the egg, the menagerie of flavors just seem to coalesce together seamlessly, creating a divine symphony in your mouth.  The dish is also garnished with Semi Dried Cherry Tomatoes and delicious Parsley Potatoes. 

     Remember, 22 Prime is known for it's amazing steaks (See Rina's post on 22 Prime Here), so getting two different steaks at this price is an unbeatable deal!!

    Regardless of your choice, Dad is definitely in for some Tasty Treats with 22 Prime's Father's Day Menu, which is available until June 30!
