THE ANSWER: ANY ANY AT HOLE IN THE WALL

I'm ashamed to admit that I haven't tried Your Local yet (I'm rarely ever in Makati, but still, no excuses 😓), but Chef Nicco's reputation from there was he was indeed a chef on the rise. His work with Hey Handsome was the stamp of reaffirmation that the hype around this talented chef was legitimate.

It took a few bites from his dishes at Hey Handsome for me to quickly realize that this is one incredibly talented Chef. You see, being a picky eater and all makes me rather adverse to trying ingredients that I'm not familiar with.

Any Any is a new addition to the Hole In The Wall food paradise, and Chef Nicco takes Malaysia staples Roti and Nasi Lemak, and elevates them to all new heights!

ROTI PRATA

I love me some Roti Prata (P120) is among the best you'll find here in the country. Whether you get the plain one, or one with delicious melted Cheese (Add P110), make sure you order the Curry (Add P50) as well!

Other savory items include Onion (Add P50), Beef (Add P200), Mackarel (Add P70), & Crab (Add P190)

For dessert, you must not miss out on the Roti Prata (P120) with Caramel Sauce (P60). The caramel never goes overboard and fits snuggly within the flakey Roti, giving you an amazing burst of flavor in every bite.

Chef Nicco also prepared other sweet variants as well, including Sweet Milk (Add P50) and Banana (Add P70)

NASI LEMAK

The Nasi Lemak is the crown Jewel of Any Any's Menu, and your ability to customize your platter is what sets Any Any apart from the rest with your choices limited only by your budget and stomach space.

A basic Nasi Lemak Plate costs (P170), and is composed of a hard boiled egg doused in Any Any's house chili sauce, toasted peanuts, deep fried dilis, cucumber slices, and Chef Nicco's kick ass Curry.

After that, you can choose from the menu a list of proteins that you would like to add on to your platter. The choices include, Beef (P220), Catfish (P190), Prawn (P110), Chicken (P70) and even Luncheon Meat (P50)!

It's easy to get overwhelmed with the available choices and decide to order everything, but remember, every protein has a corresponding add on price, so make sure you're aware of what you're ordering before you order it!

Personally, when I go back, I plan to order the Nasi Lemak with Catfish, Chicken and Luncheon Meat, which would set me back around P480, but truthfully, it's totally worth it.

Just when you thought the choices at Hole In the Wall were hard enough, Chef Nicco and Chef Queenie has yet another winner! So the next time you ask someone where they want to eat, and they answer, "Any Any!", you know exactly where to bring them!

I'm looking forward to trying more of their Roti Prata Variants, and trying different Nasi Lemak combinations!
