A FAMILY NIGHT OUT WITH IHOP'S NEW DISHES!

Photos taken with a Huawei P9, equipped with a Leica Dual Camera

Since we live in the same village, Rina and I usually invite my father in law and sister in law over for dinner, so Rain could spend more time with them. One weekend, Rina wanted to break the monotony of our usual fare, and suggested we have a nice family dinner out for a change.

Since Rain was going to be with us, I suggested IHOP, because our little baby/lady may not eat much, but something she does love is pancakes. A little research led us to discover that IHOP has new additions to its menu, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to try us many items as I could!

Something that surprised me was that the BBQ Liempo was my least favorite among the new dishes of IHOP that I tried. The marinade seemed to be a mix of sweetness and a bit of vinegar, instead of it on the sweet and smokey side that I was hoping for. Nonetheless, the meat was incredibly flavorful and moist, and it went perfectly with the atchara, and demanded it be eaten with a cup of steaming white rice.

Should I ever need to look for a healthier optiojn, I would definitely look into the Tuna Melt (P325). Tuna chunks are mixed with Mayonnaise, dice onions, and sandwiched between beautifully toasted sourdough slices. My only problem was the Tomato and Cucumber slices that the tuna was topped with.

Fortunately, the vegetable slices were easy to pick out, because this was one darn good, not to mention, very filling, sandwich.

A big hit among all of us was the Cordon Bleu (P265). A incredibly moist chicken roll, coated in a glistening in its crispy bread crumb coating. Rolled in the center of the chicken is a slice of ham and melted cheese, then drizzled in a delectable cream sauce.

My love for Bacon, and disdain for Chicken Breast was put to the test, when I ordered the Bacon Topped Chicken Breast with Potato Hash (P295). I ended up being really glad I ordered it, because it was pretty amazing. Since it's chicken breast, I was expecting the meat to be dry, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was cooked so beautifully. The juicy chicken breast was topped with Pepper Jack Cheese, and sprinkled with crispy bits of bacon, and laid over hash made of potatoes, onions, and green peppers, before being doused in a flavorful Hollandaise sauce.

Another delicious item on IHOP's new menu, was the Pork Chop with Pineapple Salsa (P245 for 1pc/P295 for 2pcs). The natural flavor of pork chop shined through, when paired with the light sweetness of the Pineapple Salsa.

To the surprise of no one, my favorite dish on the new menu, turned out to be the Waffle Burger (P395). The beauty of this baby begins with the pure premium beef burger patty. The Patty is then topped with strips of smoked bacon, and dressed with the classic fixins of lettuce, tomato and onions, whose flavors are balanced out by a sunny side up egg, tucked between two lightly crisp Belgian Waffles.

Rain was happy with her classic 4 Stack of Buttermilk Pancakes (P245), and her favorite Strawberry Syrup!

IHOP was a great place for a fun family meal, and the new items of their new menu are a great addition to their classic American fare, and are most definitely worth trying!
