As a food blogger, there are some annual events that I always highly anticipate. Madrid Fusion, UTT, and Best Food Forward are just a few of those said events that I look forward to visiting, wondering how will this year's edition top the last.

One of those events that seem to just get better and better as the years go by, is F1 Hotel Manila's LuzViMinda Festival, held at F All Day Dining Cafe. Since its inception in 2013, I've never missed out on attending F1's much awaited Pinoy Food Festival. This year, three inspiring women flexed their culinary muscles and showed us how Filipino food can be made even more amazing, when given the woman's touch!

Representing Luzon, was none other than the Adobo Queen and herself, Nancy Reyes-Lumen, while we were taken on a tour of Visayas through the dishes of Chef Pauline Gorriceta Banusing of Gruppo Al Dente Catering Service. Taking up the cudgels of the pride of Mindanao, is Chef Maria Kristina Collantes or “Teng” of Park Inn by Radisson Davao.

The overall theme of this year's LuzViMinda was"Heirloom Recipes", so these were all tried and tested dishes from the families of our highly esteemed chefs, that was passed from generation to generation.

Here's a few of the highlights you can expect when you visit LuzViMinda 2016, from June 10-25, 2016!

LUZON DISHES BY NANCY REYES-LUMEN

Prawns Ala Nancy

Rodrigo's Roast. This melt in your mouth Roasted Pork Belly is actually coated in an adobo glaze, that will help reinforce your belief that there is a high power.

Being a lover of all things Pork Belly, I can safely say that this was my favorite dish from the Luzon selection.

The Adobo Queen was gracious enough to prepare for us her signature Adobo Rice, and I must say it was a meal in itself. It was so remarkably flavorful, and the Chorizo slices helped make it even more filling.

ILONGGO DISHES BY CHEF PAULINE GORRICETA BANUSING
(Visayas)

This was my first time to meet Chef Pauline, but I was happy to find she's so down to Earth, you would think you've known her forever. Being a fan of Ilonngo food, I couldn't wait to see what she had in store for us.

Pinalmahan na Salmon

Alimango na may Guinisang Guinamos

And I was going to say that my favorite dish of hers, was her Chicken Inasal, especially because I loved how the Chicken was swimming in the famous orange Chicken Oil, and perfect for mixing into your plate of steaming white rice!

But midway through the meal, Chef Pauline asked me if I wanted to try her version of Batchoy. Word of advice to everyone out there: When a Chef goes out of their way to prepare a dish specifically for you, you accept it, because I guarantee you it's going to be a life changing experience.

And that's the story of how I tasted the best Batchoy I've ever had in my entire life.. BAR NONE. Which will come to no surprise, once people find out that Chef Pauline uses a BONE MARROW BROTH, instead of the usual Chicken Stock for her Batchoy.

DISHES FROM DAVAO BY CHEF MARIA KRISTINA COLLANTES
(MINDANAO)

Given that Davao is best known for their abundance in seafood, it was only fitting that Chef "Teng" had some really kick ass seafood dishes waiting for us.

Tuna Tail stuffed with Yellow Rice

Squid Stuffed with Native Herbs

Grilled Tuna Belly With Native Sauce

They say there is beauty in simplicity. And this is the epitome of that notion.

The Chefs also prepared various takes on Street Food, including these Coconut Fish Balls, and Lechon Kawali Croquettes!

 DESSERT

DAYAP CHEESE CAKE

TABLEA BIBINGKA

Kudos to our three talented Chefs, as well as Sir Tony, Twinkle, Macon, and the entire team from F1 Hotel Manila!

LuzViMinda 4 looks like it's going to be another hit!
