Rarely do the Zamoras find ourselves in the Manila area, but we would cross oceans and climb mountains for some awesome dimsum, and Li Li, the premiere Chinese restaurant of AG New World Manila Bay Hotel, is the home of one of the best Dimsum All You Can Promos that you can find in Metro Manila!
Nestled in the 5th floor of the grand AG New World Manila Bay Hotel, Li Li has an air of sophistication and luxury, imbibed in the interiors and decors. This was actually our second time to visit Li Li, as the first visit was when the restaurant still operated under the banner of Hyatt Hotel.
Despite the change of the name of it's home, I was ecstatic to see if Li Li maintained the level of excellence that has made it a very popular restaurant for those searching for top notch Chinese food, partticularly, unlimited dimsum.
STEAMED DIMSUM
Whenever we ate at a Dimsum place, I always make sure to try their Siomai first and foremost. I feel that if their Siomai is good, then everything else will follow. And Li Li's Siomai is quite excellent. Juicy and packed with meat, I could eat this sans any sauce and the flavors will leave me more than satisfied.
Next up was the delicious Xiao Long Bao, which had a distinct earthiness brought in by the infusion of Porcini Mushrooms into the ground mixture.
There are two mandatories for Rina when we dine at a Chinese restaurant. The first being Steamed Spare Ribs with Black Bean Sauce. As you can imagine, we've tasted quite a few in our time. And I'm happy to say that Li Li is easily among the best that we've ever had.
The second mandatory is the Shrimp Dumpling aka "Hakaw". This is integral not just for Rina, but Rain loves it as well. for Rain and Rina. Suffice to say, the Hakaw was annihilated by my girls within minutes after being plopped on to the table.
One of my favorite dimsum dishes is Deep Fried Ham Shui Kok, and Li Li is among the best in making these delicious puffs from heaven. A gelatinous deep fried puff is filed with mouthwatering minced pork and chicken bits of chicken.

Rina also enjoyed the Fried Becho Becho stuffed with Shrimp, and dabbed with Mayonnaise and Wasabi Sauce for an added zing of zestiness.
BBQ SELECTION
The best Honey Roasted BBQ Pork I've ever had was a hole in the wall restaurant in Hong Kong a few years ago. Li Li's version could easily stand toe to toe with it. It was amazingly juicy, despite the meat not being too fatty, and that honey sauce got me wanting to lick the plates.. Good thing Rina stopped me (Kill Joy).
The Roasted Suckling Pig was also a masterpiece. The meat was immaculately tender while the integrity of the skin's crispiness was intact. Couldn't help but want to devour this with rice.. Especially with the tangy mustard sauce it came with.
The Baked BBQ Pastry Puff was nothing short of amazing.
I am a man on a mission. That mission is to try every Sweet and Sour Pork Dish in Manila. Li Li's Stir Fried Sweet and Sour Pork easily ranks up there among the very best in the metro. The sauce isn't too heavy, and coats the meat, instead of spreading out on the plate.
Though it wasn't included in the Dimsum All You Can Menu, our gracious hosts at New World Manila Bay served us their Mouth-watering Peking Duck, to be cooked two ways.
The Chef demonstrated a masterclass in carving, slicing the duck meat into thin pieces, with the skin and lining of fat still intact. It was a glorious sight to behold.
Next, you know the drill. The duck meat is then delicately wrapped in that oriental pancake, with a sprig of cucumber, and a generous dabbing of Hoisin Sauce. The duck meat was phenomenal. It was juicy and flavorful with the hoisin coming in at the right time, ensuring that it doesn't feel too rich.
DESSERT
The White Chocolate Buchi was nothing short of exquisite. The gelatinous casing was soft and chewy, while the creamy white chocolate was still warm.
For the coup de grace, Li Li served us their Signature Chilled Mango Pudding. Real bits of Mango is gently placed over a silky smooth Mango flavored pudding, with creamy milk poured over it, creating a near yin yang effect.
The dish is then garnished with an intricate Tuille pastry that adds a delicious dimension of crunchiness to the pudding, when enjoyed all together.
Truly a fantastic palate cleanser, and a sublime way to end your fantastic meal
