A Japanese Spaghetti House? Japanese Spaghetti?
I found this quite interesting as Japanese is one of my favorite international cuisine and... well... who doesn't love spaghetti?
This Western noodle house Goemon that cooks freshly cooked spaghetti started in the late 70s with just one restaurant in Shibuya Koen Dori. And then grew into a whopping 208 restaurants which includes 3 franchises and 9 overseas outlets! And now they're here in the Philippines! Yomenya Goemon Japanese Spaghetti House!
The inside has a simple but nice family restaurant feel. Nothing stiff.
We started by ordering our drinks. And the item Iced Royal Milk Tea (P80) immediately caught my attention. I never used to like Milk Tea until recently for some reason, and so I decided to try this. And I liked it. I must have ordered 2 glasses. I like it because it's not sweet. It's quite refreshing.
They also serve this drink with Ice Cream! The Iced Royal Milk Tea with Ice Cream (P100). Yum! But since it was just the start of the meal and I know we were going to have a feast, I decided not to get myself too full and stuck to the basic ice cream-less version.
The Spaghetti Plates
Here they are! The pride and joy of Yomenya Goemon! Their collection of al dente spaghetti infused with Japanese flavors and toppings! Notice that the servings are huge! It's perfect for sharing for small get-togethers!
Japanese Style Fried Chicken & Meatsauce Speghetti (P450)
Japanese Style Yakitori & Soy-Butter Spaghetti (P450)
Hamburg & Napolitean Spaghetti (P450)
Seafood Fritto & Tomato Sauce Spaghetti (P450)
You can order this Carbonara with Yolk & Bacon as part of a Pizza Set. A Pizza Set can be Half sized spaghetti + Half-sized pizza. Or it can also be a combination of a regular spaghetti + half-sized pizza set. (Price of any regular pizza plus P250)
The Pizzas
Yomenya Goemon serves three simple but all delicious pizza. They have Prosciutto & Arugula Pizza (P450) which is my personal favorite because I like having greens to break off the savory and the cheese taste.
They also have Hawaiian Pizza (P350)
And the All Meat Pizza (P450)
Salads
The Goemon Caesar Salad (P250) is unlike any other traditional Caesar salads I have seen because of the additional egg topping. It also has broccoli. A good filling salad!
This pretty salad is the Goemon Wafu Salad (P190). Just found out that Wafu literally means Japanese-style dressing (Thanks to Yomenya's Facebook page haha!). Japanese-style because it's based on a popular soy sauce in Japan. If you like salads with vinaigrette dressings, this one's for you!
Sidings and Others
For appetizers and or as a side dish with your spaghetti, they serve their own version of Garlic Toast (P100) topped with special select spices, parsley flakes, toasted garlic and extra virgin olive oil.
If you like tomatoes, they have another siding / appetizer which is the Bruschetta with Tomato Marine & Olive Oil (P120)
Japanese Style Fried Chicken & Onion Rings (P190)
Squid Fritto & Onion Ring (P200)
Wine-Steamed Clam (P220)
Steamed Hamburg (P260)
And finally the Japanese Style Yakitori (P190) which seemed to be one of the favortie side dishes of the day. In fact, Hefty Foodie and Richie were fighting over it haha!
Desserts
For dessert, we had this amazing Chocolate Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream or Whipped Cream (P180).
And the Creme Brulee with Strawberry Ice Cream (P180). We all loved this one. The creme brulee had a great texture and great burst of flavors mixed with the tartiness of the fresh fruits. And then pair it with strawberry ice cream. Perfect for the summer actually.
When you're in Greenbelt and craving for some pasta, I suggest you give Yomenya Goemon a try! It's a unique pasta experience!
Uuuyyy in fair, mukhang masarap Rina. Maybe we'll try this resto tom. Nagyayaya si Jana pumunta ng greenbelt for you know what! Bye $$$ :P See you guys this weekend mwah! :-*
